David Moyes Reveals Why Joe Hart Should Make England’s World Cup Squad

West Ham United manager David Moyes believes Gareth Southgate should pick Joe Hart for the World Cup as he offers experience for England between the sticks. The Three Lions are yet to find their number one shot-stopper leading into the global tournament but their recent friendlies suggest it could be a fight between Jordan Pickford and Jack Butland.

Hart was criticised by the West Ham fans following his notable blunder in the Stoke City game but Moyes has still backed the goalkeeper for the World Cup after he impressed in the following encounter against Arsenal. Speaking after the match, Moyes said: “I think his saves against Chelsea and today were terrific.

“I think it's whether if England think they need an experienced keeper or not.I have worked with Jordan Pickford, he's really good, so I think its whether they think in some of the games if they need someone more experienced and I think Joe gives you that.He made a mistake during the week but he went in there today and played very well.”

Hart made a number of splendid saves during the weekend outing at the Emirates Stadium but it eventually came to no avail as the Gunners scored three late goals to seal a 4-1 triumph. Hart has been offered regular gametime of late in order to make his best efforts to represent England but his chances remain slim with Nick Pope also putting on a show at Burnley.

Meanwhile, reports suggest that West Ham have planned to turn Hart’s loan move from Manchester City into a permanent one during the off-season. The veteran has not been a regular for the Hammers over the course of the campaign but he has produced some mesmerising performances at Chelsea and Arsenal which may be sufficient to earn him a long-term deal.
