CITY BEAT SUNDERLAND

Manchester City has defeated Sunderland in a Premier League match played at Etihad Stadium on Saturday. City won the match quite comfortably by 3-0. This was the fourth victory for City in the ongoing Premier League.

Manchester City is currently at no. 3 in the Premier League points table. The City team has played 7 matches in the competition so far out of which the team hasn’t lost even a single match. The team has won four and the remaining three has finished in the form of a draw.

On the other hand, this was the first defeat for Sunderland in the competition. After this defeat, Sunderland has moved down to no. 13 in the points table. The Sunderland team has played 6 matches in the ongoing Premier League out of which the team has won one, lost won and the remaining four matches have ended in a draw. Sunderland currently has 7 points in those 6 matches.

The City players came into the match against Sunderland with all guns blazing. They showed aggressive attitude and managed to take the lead pretty early in the match. A free kick was awarded to City in the fifth minute and Aleksandar Kolarov was given the responsibility to take the free kick. The Serbian player took advantage of that free kick and played a brilliant left footed, angular shot to beat the Sunderland goalkeeper Simon Mignolet. There were no more goals scored in the first half.

The City team managed to double the lead in the 60th minute. David Silva passed the ball to Kolarov near the left wing. Kolarov gave a fantastic cross to Sergio Aguero who made no mistake in giving the finishing touch. It really was a superb goal.

The City team earned a free kick in the 89th minute of the match and this time, it was James Milner who took the free kick. The Englishman didn’t miss the opportunity and made the score 3-0 with a powerful right-footed strike.

After that, it was almost impossible for the Sunderland team to make a comeback. The Back Cats failed in finding the net even once in the match and suffered their first defeat in the tournament.
