Mendy came to the club from Monaco for just over £ 50 million, and he has become one of the world’s most expensive defenders. He has been a crucial factor behind City making an excellent start to the season, which only improved after a 1-0 win over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. This was a mightily impressive result, as City dominated from start to finish.

However, the Chilean has revealed that he does not plan to sit back on this advantage they have in the title race and says that attack is the best form of defence. City are in a comfortable position with only five matches left in the season. This is because they have two more games in hand over Liverpool, who won just four points ahead of them in that race.

Former Manchester City defender Danny Mills says that Manuel Pellegrini should take the blame for the club’s 2-1 defeat against Wigan in the FA Cup.

The Chilean selected a team that had a couple of first-team players missing and it was thought that he had done so with the Barcelona midweek match in mind. City are chasing the Catalan club with a 2-0 deficit from the first leg.

They could be noted out of the Champions League if they do not score at least two goals at the Camp Nou. However, City enjoyed the worst preparation for this match by losing to Wigan at the Etihad stadium.

City were initially looking to win the quadruple this campaign, but a 2-0 defeat in the first leg against Barcelona in the Champions League has reduced the hopes. They are now looking to achieve the famous domestic treble.
