John Stones admits City situation is Difficult

England international John Stones has admitted that he has had a difficult time with Manchester City since the turn of the year.

The centre-back had been a regular for the Citizens during the early part of the campaign, but a hamstring injury during the month of November has hampered his chances of earning a regular spot. Stones has now started in just two of the last nine matches with manager Pep Guardiola sticking with Nicolas Otamendi and skipper Vincent Kompany at the heart of the backline.

Fabian Delph Dedicates Manchester City Victory to Benjamin Mendy

Manchester City midfielder Fabian Delph has dedicated the club’s victory over Chelsea to left back Benjamin Mendy, who has recently been ruled out for up to 9 months with an anterior cruciate ligament injury.

Mendy came to the club from Monaco for just over £ 50 million, and he has become one of the world’s most expensive defenders. He has been a crucial factor behind City making an excellent start to the season, which only improved after a 1-0 win over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. This was a mightily impressive result, as City dominated from start to finish.

Manchester City roadblock in current Series

Manchester City’s title defending season has been hit with a few road blocks in this season as Chelsea are rampaging right through everything in its path as the team of Jose Mourinho are riding high at the top of the Premier League with 29 points, they still remain undefeated after 11 league matches.

Southampton is in 2nd place with 25 points and Manchester City is following them behind with 21 points but Manchester City could have dropped a few spots if it wasn’t for Sergio Aguero.

Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini takes his team to Anfield in order to defend the Premier league title chances, as even a draw could favour his team.

However, the Chilean has revealed that he does not plan to sit back on this advantage they have in the title race and says that attack is the best form of defence. City are in a comfortable position with only five matches left in the season. This is because they have two more games in hand over Liverpool, who won just four points ahead of them in that race.

Former Manchester City defender Danny Mills says that Manuel Pellegrini should take the blame for the club’s 2-1 defeat against Wigan in the FA Cup.

The Chilean selected a team that had a couple of first-team players missing and it was thought that he had done so with the Barcelona midweek match in mind. City are chasing the Catalan club with a 2-0 deficit from the first leg.

They could be noted out of the Champions League if they do not score at least two goals at the Camp Nou. However, City enjoyed the worst preparation for this match by losing to Wigan at the Etihad stadium.

Manchester City lifted the first trophy available for English clubs this campaign after winning the League Cup by beating Sunderland 3-1 at Wembley yesterday. This was also the first trophy for new manager Manuel Pellegrini, who said after the win that the club can build on this victory and get two more trophies this campaign.

City were initially looking to win the quadruple this campaign, but a 2-0 defeat in the first leg against Barcelona in the Champions League has reduced the hopes. They are now looking to achieve the famous domestic treble.

The manager of Manchester City, Manuel Pellegrini, has said that his team will go into the Champions League match against Bayern Munich thinking about a win.

City started its Champions League campaign in style by defeating Viktoria Plzen by 3-0 last month. They consolidated that win with another superb performance in the derby match against Manchester United, but, in their last Premier League game against Aston Villa, the Citizens suffered an unexpected defeat by 2-3 which took them one position down in the points table.

Manchester City looked short of options upfront only a few weeks ago after the sale of Carlos Tevez to Juventus for around £ 10 million.

However, they have since brought in two strikers in the space of a week and it has strengthened the squad significantly. New City manager Manuel Pellegrini has even claimed that the club now has the best strikeforce amongst all clubs in the Premier league. The squad already boasted the likes of Sergio Aguero and Edin Dzeko.
