MAN CITY TO PLAY WAITING GAME

Premier League side Manchester City were prepared to receive the best player in the world Lionel Messi this summer. However, latest reports hint that Messi will see out his contract at the club. The 33-year old joining City would have intimidated rivals and pushed up their morale in the Champions League. With the partnership of Messi and Kevin de Bruyne in the middle, Aguero upfront with the rebuilt City defence, no team would be able to withstand their threats.

Now the Cityzens would have to play a waiting game as Messi could leave Nou Camp for free next summer. Pep Guardiola will be able to land his former protégé and attempt something incredible at the Etihad next season.
With Messi joining next term, City would have to rebuild their tactics, sell players like Gabriel Jesus, Phil Foden, Riyad Mahrez, Bernando Silva or llkay Gundogan who may have reduced game time or be redundant due to many options and change in play.

The Premier League will profit as Messi will bring a slice of La Liga fans reflecting in more TV revenue. City will gain if the project works out as Messi will be heavily paid at 34 and 35, depending on how long he stays before the planned move to America to play in the MLS. De Bruyne and Aguero are expected to extend their deals ahead while the club fans bask in excitement as they garner prestige.
For now the club will try and add defenders and challenge Liverpool for the Premier League title while they have another go at the Champions League.
