German international IlkayGundogan hit as a second brace for Manchester City as they ended their preseason in style by thrashing newly promoted English Championship club Blackpool 4-1.

Blackpool secured promotion to the Championship via the League One playoffs at the end of last season and they were could not handle a vibrant Manchester City who clearly had more qualities and rightfully won the game.

Manchester Cityhad an unblemished record in preseason before they met the Tangerines on Tuesday and they were able to maintain that perfect record.

Sam Edozie is a Manchester City youngster who has caught the eye in preseason netting in the two previous preseason friendly win over the Championship duo of Barnsley and Preston North End. The teenager scored again as he opened the scoring against the Tangerines to make it three goals in three preseason games this summer.

Manchester City suffered a scare when Luke Garbutt scored from the penalty spot. Algerian international RiyadMahrez scored for the Citizens to edge them 2-1 ahead before Gundogan added a brace in his first game back in the Manchester City colours after the Euro tournament.

Gundogan was part of the German team that flopped at the Euro 2020 tournament via the last 16 exit at the hands of England. The German was a big player for Manchester City in the Premier League last term and it looks like he's ready to continue that role of being an important player for the club in the new season.

After the friendly win over Blackpool, Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola expressed his delight with the way that experienced players and the young players were able to perform together. Experienced players like Benjamin Mendy, Ruben Dias, club skipper Fernandinho, Bernardo Silva were in the Manchester City team that took on Blackpool.
